Jan 25, 2013 — The West Virginia favorite brings a few of her own songs to this live concert in her home state.Belinda Smith makes her first appearance on Mountain Stage, recorded on the campus of West Virginia Wesleyan College. A hometown favorite, Smith is a graduate of Wesleyan and a West Virginia native who relocated to Nashville in 1997 to pursue a career as a session singer and songwriter.
While in Nashville, she's found much success, winning a Dove award, seeing her songs covered by Grammy-nominated recording artists, and earning some of the industry's most prestigious publishing honors. She also maintains her own successful business, Belinda Smith Creative, which provides mentoring for other up-and-coming songwriters. Playing both on her own at the piano and backed by the Mountain Stage band, her segment includes "What You See Ain't Always What You Get," a song not heard in the radio broadcast.
