Peace activists in 1029 locations in 59 countries gathered on March 3, 2003 to perform dramatic readings of the ancient Greek antiwar comedy Lysistrata, written by Aristophanes, that tells the story of a group of women from opposing states who unite to end the Peloponnesian War. In Canton, the reading was at the Unitarian-Universalist Church.
