Overwhelming Generosity

We did it. What an amazing fundraiser! Our total today at noon was $179,180 thanks to the generosity of our community members. Talk about a feel good week-- I can't begin to tell you how gratifying it is for the entire staff to know how much our community cares about the station. Times are tough right now, but our listeners came through $5, $10, $25, $120 dollars at a time and we shot right past our goal.

Station underwriters and friends provided fantastic incentives for our listeners. Volunteers spent hour after hour answering phones and taking web pledges. Friends brought brownies, cookies, bread and snacks for the staff and volunteers. It was community spirit and grass roots effort in action all week long.

So, I'm getting ready to call Leda Carpenter and let her know she won the last Nikon Camera and then I'll call David Crane to let him know he was the winner of the laptop and then...another year of great radio. That's what its about right?

Thanks Everyone!
June

Pledge Central - Day 5

It's just past 8:30 am on day five of our fundraiser. Our current total is $134,092 and 232 new members have joined our ranks so far. We've still got quite a bit of work to do to achieve our goal of $175,000 by tomorrow at noon so there's no time to relax just yet.

We got off to a bit of a rocky start this morning as our website went down. But after a call to our fabulous web manager, Dale Hobson we're up and running and the web pledges are coming in steadily again.

Dale is in Portland this week so our call came to him at about 3am. Being the Zen Master that he is, he just said "no problem, I'll just fire it up from here." No complaints about the fact that I woke him from a dead sleep in the middle of the night. No drama. In fact, you would have never known I woke him up at all. Totally calm, cool and forever kind, he just did the thing. Dale's the guy you always want on your team in an emergency.

Just one more reason why I love NCPR.
