North Country Musician Dave Ruch to do U.K. Tour

You may know Dave Ruch from his appearance on the Music Heard UpNorth 3-disc set that we produced last year.  Dave also played in our UpNorth Music concert in Glens Falls in September. Last year I got the chance to record his debut CD, The Oldest Was Born First at his home in Buffalo and here at NCPR's studio (Dave also has a place in Piercefield in St. Lawrence County.)  It may have been the most enjoyable recording project I've ever worked on, and Dave and I have become pals since then.

Dave is a successful full time musician who is very busy playing concerts and workshops, but his gigs are almost all in New York State (not surprising, since he is quite the expert in the field of traditional New York songs.)  So, it took him quite by surprise to find his CD developing quite a following in the U.K.  So enthusiastic was the response over there that he is now booked on a ten-day U.K tour set for late October!  It couldn't happen to a nicer guy, so I'm really pleased for Dave.  But it's also quite thrilling to have a record produced right here at NCPR being enjoyed by folks in other parts of the world.
