Fox plumps more false video
This is the problem of a "news" network becoming far too closely identified with particular politicians or leaders.
The journalists become cheerleaders; and from there it's a slippery slope to propagandist.
In this case, it's video purporting to show Sarah Palin's big book tour crowds -- actually filmed during last year's election campaign.

Mr. Mann, here we go again. Remember the Hannity debacle of a week or so ago? The problem of using previous videotape of a crowd in a more recent event?
Don't you know, sir (BTW, classic Olbermann calling you, sir) that these mishaps can be laid at the fee of interns at FOX? The interns are former students from Regent U. and Liberty College. They were in need of jobs ever since the great "Decider" gracefully gave up his office of "many vacations" and left D.C.. His administration filled many posts throughout the Executive Branch with these "Bushies."
Low protein diet at their alma maters is suspected.
What the hell are you talking about?
Mike
Admit it Brian, you are slightly obsessed with Palin aren't you?
Why all the "fact-checking" now?
I'm surprised you haven't posted one of those "serious" photos of her to go along with the post.
Actually, the issue here isn't Sarah Palin; it's bad journalism. There's nothing her that "fact checks" her. She had nothing to do with this decision.

One more thought. A commenter here referenced the Newsweek photograph of Sarah Palin.
Just as I would fire anyone who used canned video to misrepresent a story, I would also fire the person who used that photograph of Sarah Palin on the cover of Newsweek.
(It shows her in shorts -- a photograph taken originally for a running magazine.)
In this context it was absolutely sexist and demeaning.

Mike, I'm talking about FOX News. See, it has to be the interns at FOX who keep messing up the video that goes with these "news" stories.
Hannity said last week (and it was hillariously spoofed by Jon Stewart) that it was an honest mistake.
Only the interns at FOX are capable of making honest mistakes. The seasoned veterans of FOX know how to create them on purpose. A mistake on purpose?
Regarding TourPro's comment, Brian you've been in the media long enough to know that when people don't like the message, they shoot the messenger. It has nothing to do with Sarah Palin; it has to do with willful deceit passing as journalism. And willful deceit is far more serious than simple sloppiness.
It's a bit tricky. Fox News [sic] and their misreporting doesn't really change anyone's mind. They simply preach to the converted. And everyone else recognizes their b.s. for what it is. To the converted, the difference between facts and falsehoods is irrelevant. Once one "fact" is discredited, they'll find something else fantastical to latch on to until that's discredited, and so on. So do you waste your time discrediting every falsehood and misrepresentation just to "set the record straight" or to stand on journalistic principle even though the people who believe the media outlet in question won't care? It's a definite paradox for people who care about journalism that may not be perfect but at least tries to be objective.
What I find really strange about the whole FOX media empire is the vast difference between their FOX News programming and the programming on FOX TV. On FOX News is the familiar neo-con, far right "news stories" and plenty of doubleplusgood FOXspeak. All espousing what they believe to be good ol' American family values and mores.
On FOX TV, I watch adult cartoons such as "Family Guy" "American Dad" and the new "Cleveland Show" all poking fun at these same values and mores. These shows will even poke fun of FOX News every once in a while.
I don't get it. Does Rupert Murdoch have a split personality?
I keep hearing "thew people have spoken.." regarding Obama anbd the liberal agenda. Well, doens;'t that work for FOx too? It';s the top dog in the news arena based on viewer choice. THe people have spoken. IT's no surprise to me that they'd do the same thing as other news agencies and use doctored or false footage. NBC/CBS/ABC/CNN/MSNBC have all done it, just like previously untouchable Reuters when they had to admit they'd doctored footage of explosions.
Face it folks, news is a business and they do what it takes to sell.
BTW-Getting "news" from "The Comedy Channel"........really? And you can find the gall to insult people who watch Fox as idiots?

Jon Stewart's The Daily Show, was the first "fake news" program to call out Sean Hannity and FOX News for using "fixed" video.
The "real" news show with Sean Hannity and FOX, had to apologize to that "fake news" reporter, Jon Stewart, for factually reporting that FOX News is just as "fixed" as it's ever been.
But as BRET4207 believes, all of the news channels and programs engage in deceit and lying for television ratings (that justifies FOX doing it?), plus it helps to sell Viagra and Adult's Depends Diapers.
The people who get their news from FOX are not idiots. Misguided and misinformed yes, idiots no. Although it appears that FOX News takes its viewers for idiots.
Now those who get their news from Judge Drudge? Dumb as a bag of hammers.
Insults Frank? You're down to insults? Explain please how something linked from Drudge to CNN, AP, BBC, etc. is tainted? How is Drudge wrong when MSNBC is right?
If you can't form a coherent argument, then don't say anything.
Gooo-gooo-ga-ga.
I take no responsibility for you feeling insulted.
Drudge is dumb, Olbermann is smart.
Coherent enough?
How's this? Drudge insults my sense of fair play and distorts what it means to be a journalist.
just my Maddow brainwashing showing through. I'm as dumb as a bag of "left" handed hammers.
