Stimulus watch + Wright resurfaces
Here's an interesting site that lists - and rates - many potential stimulus projects. Nothing up from North Country, though, just the big cities in New York. Pretty interesting to scan through what that $800 billion would buy.
On a different tip, former Senator Jim Wright - whose decision to step down mid-term opened the door for Democrats (in the person of Darrel Aubertine) to upset Republicans twice in one year - is said to be interviewing for the executive director job at the Development Authority of the North Country.

Nothing for NNY?????? What about our good buddies Chuck Schumer and Hillary Clinton?? They didn't include anything for us in the big Democrat bailout for us??
Imagine that...and we all thought are airport fly-by friends Chuck and Hill, and June O'Neill's big position would bring us some real benefits.
Give me a frigging break!!!
I tagged an article this morning that mentions "a list of projects being considered for federal funding under the proposed economic stimulus package". I also noted another which mentions some Clinton County items.
The main problem is a lack of transparency. We are being rushed without full disclosure of the facts. The hiding of PORK earmarks is something New York pols are great at doing. Schumer and his new trainee Rutnick scare me.
And another thing, "Development Authority" - could there be any more suspicious and expensive sounding words they could use?
Income Tax Holiday is the only answer.
For clarification, Stimulus Watch includes no NNY projects because they haven't been entered into their database. Not because there are none. The Governor's office has released a list of "shovel ready" projects that the stimulus would fund, many of which are in NNY. Whether you agree they're worth funding or not, now that's a different story...
